Horizons Reaches Out

Horizons Mental Health Center is committed to reaching out to those in our communities. We understand that education and prevention are important for growth and for creating strong communities.

We currently have offices in each of the 5 counties we serve and work to develop relationships with many other agencies within these communities. These partnerships allow for us to fulfill this crucial part of our mission, and empower those in our communities through education and prevention.

We take part in the many of the local health fairs where we provide free screenings for Depression and Anxiety. Horizons also provides prevention and training on relevant topics to the youth in our communities, like the Personal Safety Awareness Program.

Horizons is also the home of an accredited Child Advocacy Center (CAC). The purpose of the CAC is to bring a mult-disciplinary approach to helping children who have been victims of abuse. This program brings agencies in our community to together to advocate for the safety and well-being of our children.

Horizons Offers Online Screening

Have you been feeling consistently moody or sad? Can’t relax or concentrate? Been alternating between highs and lows?

If you have been suffering from emotional changes and do not feel like yourself, you can take advantage of Horizons’ new online self-assessment screening program. The screenings are not a substitute for a complete mental health evaluation, but rather provide an indication of whether or not a person has symptoms consistent with depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, generalized anxiety disorder and/or bipolar disorder.

The program offers a total of seven FREE health and mood screenings. In addition to the list above, there is a brief assessment for adolescent depression, as well as alcohol and eating disorders.

Furthermore, all screenings are taken anonymously. There are no requirements to provide any personal information.

If your emotional health is preventing you from enjoying life, take a moment to fill out one of the self-assessment screenings by clicking here.
